Mission

A former professional dancer, I know firsthand how the right fit can transform not just how you move, but how you feel in your body. Lingerie, in particular, had always felt like an empowering ritual—yet, I struggled to find intimate apparel that was beautiful and comfortable, that was also responsibly made.

Upon conducting interviews, I discovered that around 65% of women are dissatisfied with current intimate apparel market offerings, citing comfort, fit, support, and design as top frustrations—with sustainability close behind, and yet no-one is solving this issue at scale.

At the same time, the world was shifting. Post-pandemic, women were prioritizing comfort more than ever, and the demand for sustainable fashion was growing. However, most lingerie remained either stylish and synthetic or natural yet basic—failing to meet the evolving needs of modern consumers.

Designed with circularity at its core, Petal + Ash is crafted from natural materials safe for the body. At garment end-of-life, our line can safely return to the earth. Unlike conventional lingerie, which lingers in landfills while releasing harmful gasses like methane, Petal + Ash pieces (currently undergoing backyard compost testing) offer a truly responsible alternative.

With a background in design from Fashion Institute of Technology, and a masters in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, I’ve decided to create something better!

Sincerely,

Micki, Founder | Petal + Ash
